I don’t know how to say this. The evening school which was started in July, is short of funds. We have found some organizations willing to assist, but the process and paperwork involved takes too long… at least 3 months. In the meantime, what can we do?

Blogs are often used for raising awareness…. and this is what I’m trying to do. To make it known that somewhere in a small village in India, a school with at least 40 children is in need of funds…. to tide them over for the next 3 months. Two volunteers are presently at work making ecards to be used by Helptrust to spread the word about the evening school.

Indian art, artists…?

We’re trying to locate a painter/artist who can donate a painting for charity. The painting, along with some of the childrens creations will be auctioned for the purpose of providing funds for the school. The thing is I don’t know any Indian artists. Do you? If so, please post then as a comment here or send them to e.angelinas@yahoo.com. We’ll be forever grateful for any assistance offered.

Holiday preparations

Holidays are approaching and in anticipation of this the children will be preparing drawings that could be used as greeting cards or e cards. Also, an expert in computer graphics was found who has volunteered to prepare ecards with the photos of the children for the ngo. The creations will be displayed here as soon as they are made.

The evening school has grown, it now has 20 more students. That makes 42 altogether.

These are 42 children who are given an education, as well as being taken off the streets. The children are now busy creating paintings and drawings which will be sold in order to raise funds for the school. School trips are being planned into nearby cities and towns during the holidays.

Today, I recieved a reply from one the institutions that I applied to for micro-enterprize. For the women in Kootapuli. They don’t provide funds but opportunities. Well.. whatever.

Anything is welcome either funds or opportunities, I sent the email to the ngo rep. so that he can decide whether it’s helpful or not. Keeping fingers crossed.
